NAMES:
Ed Heckerman
CITY
OF RESIDENCE: Santa Monica, CA
OCCUPATION:
Professor of Protography at Cerritos College
AMOUNT OF TIME YOU'VE DONE TAI CHI:
I have been with TC since the beginning of 2005. I learned a very different
version of the Yang form of Tai Chi in Switzerland for about three years,
but then stopped for a variety of reasons. I am returning to it now
after a ten year break.
WHAT
GOT YOU INTERESTED IN TAI CHI:
Originally, I got involved in Tai Chi to improve my balance and set
meditation in motion.
WHAT
HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM TAI CHI:
I have learned to be more aware of my body in its relation to my surroundings
by observing the five principles. I am also learning through TC to protect
myself if the need for self-defense should arise.
WHY
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND TAI CHI TO OTHERS:
I would recommend Tai Chi to anyone who wants to feel more confident
and healthy, but they must have discipline and patience to let it all
come together. I am looking forward to learning the form completely,
but I also understand that this is only the beginning.
