OCCUPATION:
Jessica: Nursing Student

AMOUNT OF TIME YOU'VE DONE TAI CHI:
W have been studying with TC for just over a year now. We began study
of a Malaysian branch Yang style Tai Chi in NewZealand in 2002. We both
have limited experience with another martial art, Kung Fu. I have been
co-leading an intro Tai Chi class at St Josephs Center in Venice.
WHAT
KEEPS YOU INVOLVED IN TAI CHI:
Jessica: Tai Chi is meditative and relaxing
John: It is a way I enjoy building strength, increasing body discipline
and efficiency of movement, and feeling more comfortable with my self-defense
ability.
COMMENTS
OF THE CLASSES:
TC is a wonderful teacher and his classes progress at the perfect
pace, and his demonstration of the applications is very helpful and
has made him our best teacher yet. He is non-judgmental and very
positive.
ANYTHING
ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE US TO KNOW:
John: 32 years old. John has been studying with the TC Society since 2003, after becoming
exposed to Yang-style Tai Chi used as the basis for a Malaysian circular Kung Fu in New
Zealand, where he trained for half a year. He enjoys Tai Chi for building strength,
emotional centering, energy circulation, increasing efficiency of movement, and confidence
regarding my personal space (self-defense). John is also an amateur aerialist (hanging
fabric) and practices yoga and intuitive bodywork. John's practice of Tai Chi made him
stand out when he went back to school for massage therapy in 2006; the other students were
constantly encouraged to mimic his posture and body mechanics.
